The Chinese character for fish is often equated with luck and longevity, due to the same pronunciation as the character for surplus in the Chinese language. Drawing inspiration from this traditional connotation, this space by the seashore houses artworks with fish elements as a running motif throughout the communal areas. Coupled with floral wall mounts as a main theme for the rooms, the range of paintings and sculptures explores the lyrical movement of fishes and organic forms of flowers using a variety of materials. Subtle use of golden highlights on the pieces are used to accentuate the elegance of the natural forms.
